U.S. Extends Tax Filing Deadline to July 15
3.20.20 | Client Alert – COVID-19 Update
According to recent statements by the Treasury Secretary, the U.S. will extend the income tax filing deadline until July 15, for businesses and individuals (which includes trusts and estates). Formal guidance from the IRS is expected to follow.
This follows a series of actions taken by the government and The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) this past week as a response to the COVID-19 emergency declaration. The tax payment deadline was already deferred to July 15 for Federal income tax payments originally due on April 15, 2020.
