Each year Crain’s New York Business honors women professionals in accounting and consulting at major firms in the metropolitan area. Areas including career accomplishments, mentorship, involvement in nonprofits and community organizations, are just some of the criteria nominees are reviewed on. This year, three Berdon professionals are among the honorees – Preeti Baliga, Rebecca Goodman-Stephens, and Marcy Greenfield.

About the Honorees
Preeti Baliga, CPA, an Audit Partner, has nearly two decades of experience in public accounting. Preeti specializes in audits of government-assisted and subsidized housing and is adept in the requirements and regulations of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the New York State Homes and Community Renewal, the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and the New York City Housing Development Corporation. Working with nonprofit and for-profit entities, she conducts audits, including Uniform Guidance audits and cost certifications for government-subsidized housing projects, nursing homes, and low income housing tax credit projects.
Rebecca Goodman-Stephens, Chief Operating Officer, brings more than 18 years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility to her position as COO. Leveraging her professional services and consulting expertise in areas as diverse as governance, strategy, operations and organization, M&A and integration, international relations, communications, coaching, change management, and clinical psychology, she works closely with senior firm management, the Executive Committee, and Administrative Leaders on initiatives key to the ongoing development of the firm. Among the initiatives are driving the firm’s growth; enhancing innovation; overseeing operations and administration; and evaluating, refining, or establishing operating policies.
Marcy Greenfield, CPA is an Audit Partner and Co-Leader of the Manufacturing, Distribution and Retail Practice with more than 20 years of experience in public accounting. She specializes in providing both audit and tax services to clients in the real estate arena and in the manufacturing and distribution sector, including wine businesses. Her expertise extends to areas that include planning and carrying out audits of financial statements, reviewing operations and internal controls to identify areas of exposure and develop ways to strengthen controls and increase efficiency, and providing corporate tax planning and preparation services.
