International Advisory Services What We Do

INTERNATIONAL ADVISORY SERVICES

For businesses and individuals operating across borders, Berdon’s international accounting, business, and tax advisors guide you through the complex tangle of regulations governing transactions. We advise on inbound and outbound transactions, help U.S. businesses open foreign operations, and assist foreign businesses establishing operations in the U.S. Berdon professionals can help you plan for the accounting and tax consequences of multinational organizations.

Our tax team constantly monitors developments in the law governing international transactions to keep clients apprised of coming changes that can impact their positions. We keep clients advised of relevant issues through our eVisor program, timely email newsletters that address the hottest domestic and international issues, as well as more in-depth Client Alerts.

In addition to our advisory services to businesses, Berdon’s international tax team members advise resident aliens, nonresident aliens, cross-border property owners, and U.S. expatriates. We help them meet international tax obligations, minimize taxes, and avoid tax traps.

Our services extend worldwide through our membership in TIAG a global alliance of more than 115 independent accounting firms in over 70 countries. Through TIAG’s sister alliance with TAGLaw®, Berdon has access to more than 160 independent law firms in more than 90 countries. Membership in these organizations gives Berdon’s team members and our clients access to tax and legal professionals around the world.

Lisa Goldman, Berdon’s International Tax Practice Leader, answers questions from our CMO, Frank Vitale, to clarify how new IRS guidance has changed the laws with regard to unintended U.S. tax residency.
