NEW YORK — Berdon LLP audit partners Rita Pierre, CPA and Grace Singer, CPA and tax partner Lisa S. Goldman, CPA, TEP, M.TAX were recognized as Notable Women in Accounting and Consulting by Crain’s New York Business. The 2018 Candidates were selected through Crain’s research and nominations from major firms in the New York metropolitan area, and chosen based on career accomplishments, mentorship, community involvement, and other criteria.

Rita Pierre, CPA, an audit partner with more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of accounting and auditing, specializes in guiding real estate, advertising, and professional service organizations. Named one of the top 50 women in the industry by the Association of Real Estate Women, Rita works closely with developers, owners, investors, and REITs. She has particular expertise in preparing, analyzing, and auditing special purpose financial statements relating to mortgages and other financing agreements, sales and acquisitions, and certiorari filings. Rita also advises a wide variety of clients on internal controls — identifying control weaknesses, areas of noncompliance, and risk exposure, recommending ways to improve accounting controls and reduce risk.
Grace Singer, CPA, is the partner-in-charge of the Quality Control Department of Berdon LLP with more than 30 years of experience in public accounting. Working with the Quality Control Committee, she advises on the impact of current, new, and evolving standards, and assists in assuring that the firm’s accounting and auditing services comply with accepted standards and policies. She performs technical reviews of attest engagements, provides consultations and staff training on technical issues, updates the firm regarding new technical pronouncements, and assures that the firm complies with all professional and regulatory quality control standards. Grace is also involved in litigation support and research assignments.
Lisa S. Goldman, CPA, TEP, M.TAX, with more than 20 years of professional experience,specializes in international taxation. She creates strategic domestic and international tax minimization opportunities for her clients, who are high net-worth global business leaders and multi-generational families. Lisa regularly structures both the holdings and transactions in their non-U.S. corporations, trusts, estates, and other entities. These frequently include diversified real estate, private companies, and other alternative asset classes. Her clients include many foreign nationals with residencies that span the world, including Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South America, and Africa.
