3.24.20 | Client Alert – COVID-19 Update

As we all adjust to this unprecedented time in our history, we wanted to provide an update on how Berdon LLP (Berdon) continues to respond to the evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic. We hope all are staying safe and healthy and are doing their part to impede the spread of the virus.

Due to the evolution of the situation as well as Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s announcement regarding the “New York State on PAUSE” directive, we have decided to fully close our New York City and Jericho, NY offices until further notice.

Fortunately, over the past year, the Firm made investments in technology that have enabled us to make this transition to a fully remote workforce as seamless as possible. In fact, last week more than 90% of our personnel worked remotely and was successful in continuing to provide secure service delivery to our clients.

During this difficult time, our primary objectives are to help ensure the health of our clients and personnel and continue to serve as our clients’ trusted advisors—providing sophisticated accounting and consulting services focused on their needs and objectives. To meet these objectives, we are asking that any items you need to send to us be sent electronically.

We have been set-up to support a “paperless” work environment for some time and given the current public health crisis, we request that you utilize available technology that not only enables us to increase efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint, but also allows us to protect our employees and continue to serve you in a timely fashion. Anything you can scan, or take a picture of, and send via email in lieu of mailing would be greatly appreciated.

We understand that there is a lot of information coming out on a daily basis and many of you may have a lot of questions. We are here for you and our professionals are working tirelessly to provide you with insight and information on everything that has been released by Federal and State Government officials. It is important to note, that new legislation and updated notices continue to be issued and given the unprecedented nature of the situation, some questions require more guidance to be issued before they can be answered. With that said, we have developed the Berdon COVID-19 Information Center, which provides access to the most current information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic as well as insight on the impact the crisis is having on businesses and resources to help individuals, families, and businesses face the challenges presented by the current environment.
