NEW YORK - Three Berdon LLP partners will offer their insights on the state of the New York City real estate market at a conference held December 16, 2015, sponsored by the New York State Society of CPAs. John Fitzgerald, CPA, audit partner; Meyer Mintz, CPA, J.D., LL.M., tax partner; and Seth Molod, CPA, audit partner will speak at the event and Grace Ng, CPA, tax principal, serves as a member of the conference committee responsible for developing this day-long program.
John Fitzgerald and Seth Molod will provide an "Accounting Update" that details the latest developments in U.S. GAAP and the impact on real estate transactions. The speakers will explore such issues as revenue recognition, debt issuance costs, and new consolidation rules.
Meyer Mintz will be a co-presenter on "Real Estate Investment Trusts." Among the topics covered will be a summary of tax rules impacting REITs, joint ventures, exit strategies, and the use of independent contractors.
