NEW YORK - Two long-time members of Berdon LLP, Accountants and Advisors, have been named partners effective January 1, 2016. The new partners are Charles Perry, CPA, in Family Office/ High Net Worth Services, and Paul Ribaudo, CPA, CFE, CFF, CITP, in the Litigation, Valuation, & Dispute Resolution Group.
A Berdon LLP professional for more than 25 years, Charles Perry has particular expertise in providing personal business management and tax planning and compliance services to a broad range of high net worth individuals and families - among them business owners, actors, artists, and athletes. Guiding clients on ways to increase and retain their wealth, he advises on financial and succession planning, cash liquidity, and estate and gift tax planning.
For individuals in the entertainment industry, he values recording and publishing catalogs for sales and estate tax purposes and performs royalty investigations to help clients receive the maximum payments from their agreements. Working closely with high net worth clients, he guides them in developing personal budgets and advises on retirement and education planning while seeking solutions to minimize their overall tax burden.
Paul Ribaudo, with the firm for nearly 25 years, is a member of the Litigation, Valuation, & Dispute Resolution Group with a concentration in forensic accounting and investigative services. His expertise includes forensic investigations and consulting, investigations into alleged fraudulent financial reporting, litigation consulting relating to the application of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards, accountants' malpractice, damage calculations, and purchase price disputes. As a certified fraud examiner, Mr. Ribaudo is skilled in all phases of fraud audits and financial investigations.
Mr. Ribaudo is qualified as an expert witness in New York State Supreme Court and by the American Association of Arbitrators. He is also qualified as a Court Appointed Forensic Accountant pursuant to New York State Part 36 of the Rules of the Chief Judge. In addition, he established Berdon's Technology Efficiency Consultants, an internal group dedicated to maximizing the firm's use of technology on engagements. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants where he serves on the Litigation Services Committee and Professional Ethics Committee.
