NEW YORK — CPA and Advisory firm Berdon LLP has added two highly experienced professionals — bringing further depth to its Personal Wealth Services and Internal Controls & Risk Management practices.
Sanford Stolar, CPA, has joined Berdon as a tax principal in the Personal Wealth Services group. In a career spanning more than 20 years, he has advised numerous high net worth individuals, among them managing principals of hedge funds and private equity funds, entrepreneurs, executives, attorneys, and bankers.
Mr. Stolar has particular expertise in income and estate and gift tax planning. Consulting on income tax issues, he takes into account net investment income tax, alternative minimum tax, passive activity loss rules, and foreign tax and entity ownership issues, among other areas. Advising on wealth transfer plans, he finds ways to help achieve an individual's goals and objectives while limiting or eliminating the tax impact. He also represents clients with inquiries from federal and state taxing authorities, including residency audits.
Alexander Moshinsky, CPA, is now Berdon's Director, Internal Controls & Risk Management. With 25+ years of experience in financial services and other sector, he has held senior positions at major companies and in the risk services advisory practices of national and Big Four accounting firms.
A highly accomplished senior financial professional, Mr. Moshinsky has extensive experience in enterprise risk management (ERM), Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and 302 compliance, operational risk, internal auditing, corporate governance, and AML compliance.
