FT and/or P/T tax accountant for our CPA firm.  This is a flexible position.  Candidate must have:

  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Strong knowledge of business
  • Personal tax return preparation. 
  • Ability to prepare journal entries required for general ledger and trial balance updates.  
  • Knowledge of sales and payroll tax preparation. 
  • Lacerte and QuickBooks experience a plus.

IT/Help Desk

A client of Berdon LLP is looking for a Help Desk Representative for one of their NYC midtown based clients.  To succeed in this position, you must manage your time efficiently and be able to determine the level of assistance required to meet user needs.  Your strong communication skills should enable you to troubleshoot issues over the phone.  The sometimes bustling environment requires the ability to anticipate needs and act accordingly. 

 

Job duties:

  • Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voice mail, email, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies
  • Interview user to collect information about problem and lead user through diagnostic procedures to determine the source of the problem
  • Determine whether problem is caused by hardware — modem, printer, cables, telephone
  • Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and routine follow-up with user
  • Refer more complex problems to supervisor or technical staff
  • Log and track calls using problem management database, and maintain history records and related problem documentation.
  • Prepare standard statistical reports, such as help desk incident reports.
  • Analyze and evaluate incident reports and make recommendations to reduce help line incident rate.
  • Consult with programmers to explain software errors or to recommend changes to programs.
  • Contact software and hardware vendors to request servicing of defective products.
  • Test software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether product aids user in performing work
  • Write or revise user training manuals and procedures
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed
  • Additional hours are required: Nights/weekends as requested during key periods.

 

 Minimum Education & Other Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years experience in technical support
  • Strong knowledge of  Microsoft Office 2013/2016 suite
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP, Proxy Servers, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Adobe Suite, Network Printers, and smart phones
  • Accounting or professional service industry experience a plus, though not required
  • College degree a plus but not required.
