Stuart B. Koch has nearly five decades of professional experience in the affordable housing area with specialties in HUD Housing as well as the Low Income Housing Tax Credit. Before joining Berdon LLP,
Mr. Koch was the founding partner of the New York accounting firm Koch Group and Company, LLP.
Mr. Koch's experience includes working with both for profit and not-for-profit developers on real estate projects - utilizing complex rental and financing scenarios including subsidies, taxable and tax exempt financing, and coordinating them with federal, state, and local tax credits and incentives. He works extensively with developers in structuring transactions both from a business and tax aspect. His knowledge of historical credits, solar credits, Brownfield credits in addition to the low income housing tax credit allows him to maximize the benefits of combined tax credit structures. He also consults on year 15 analysis and strategies.
In addition to his experience in real estate, he also advises clients in the construction industry, both general contractors as well as subcontractors.
