Rita Pierre, an audit partner, has more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of accounting and auditing. Ms. Pierre specializes in guiding real estate, advertising, and professional service organizations. Named one of the top 50 women in the industry by the Association of Real Estate Women, Ms. Pierre works closely with developers, owners, investors, and REITs. She has particular expertise in preparing, analyzing, and auditing special purpose financial statements relating to:
- Mortgages and other financing agreements
- Sales and acquisitions
- Certiorari filings
- Rent escalation clauses of leases
- Cash flow allocations
- Determining net operating income
Ms. Pierre advises a wide variety of clients on internal controls and on the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. In addition to identifying control weaknesses, areas of noncompliance, and risk exposure, she recommends ways to improve accounting controls and reduce risk.
For advertising and professional services clients, she analyzes the financial aspects of partnership agreements — including capital requirements, capital payouts, and profit and loss allocations.

EDUCATION AND LICENSES
Ms. Pierre graduated magna cum laude from Bernard M. Baruch College of the City University of New York with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. She received her license as a certified public accountant in New York in 1984.
