EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS

Senior advisor Jerome Sloane served as partner-in-charge of the Long Island office of Berdon LLP. For more than 30 years he specialized in advising closely held organizations spanning numerous industries and professions including the real estate, healthcare, and manufacturing.  He worked closely with business leaders on operations and consulted on their personal financial issues.  While he was involved in all aspects of accounting, auditing, and taxation, he primarily assisted clients in increasing profitability, structuring and financing transactions, and preparing for succession.

Mr. Sloane’s experience and expertise includes:

  • Performing due diligence
  • Structuring transactions to minimize tax impact and maximize tax benefits
  • Advising and negotiating partnership agreements and merger and acquisition deals
  • Reviewing internal controls to ensure compliance
  • Creating succession plans for the transition of wealth and to pass control and ownership of family enterprises to succeeding generations

Mr. Sloane is also the producer and host of Hot Seat, a cable television talk show exploring current issues of interest to Long Island.

EDUCATION AND LICENSES

Mr. Sloane graduated from Queens College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting.  He went on to do graduate work in finance at Baruch College and obtained his license as a certified public accountant in New York in 1970.
